Note from artist SPC Andrea Geller: "We were supporting soldiers and contractors working at Al Asad Air Base during the pandemic. We treated many people as well as helped control the spread. It was inspired by one of the commanding officers that was with us, he continuously shared raccoon memes in the group chat and it just became our thing. When we pointed out that raccoons also constantly wash their food (or hands 😂) we thought it would be a perfect mascot for the pandemic."
